Kidding season is finally over and all the babies are here. We had a total of 5 girls and 7 boys this year. I have already placed my deposit on 3 new doelings from North Missouri from fantastic show quality pedigrees. I have also placed a deposit on an AKC registered Anatollian Shepherd puppy. We will also have some puppies for sale in the upcoming years. I have some farm visits scheduled to show potential buyers our Nigerians which i am excited about. I love to teach and show people what i have learned about them over the years. Im also getting ready to test our herd again for CAE and CL, and will post those results on the Home page once they come in. Good Night and God Bless,

Well today is the first "snow day" that the kids have had this school year and boy was i super excited to just turn off the alarm for the 7th time and think to myself that i was just going to go back to bed. NOT! Today is Friday and the end of the work week for me and being a medical coder i had just asigned myself 40 surgery charts the day before to "catch up on Friday" so having no choice i throw the covers off and bundle the kids back up in them so they could sleep. We had the house to ourselves last night as my husband took his brother out to stay at our Cabin in the woods. His brother is not much of a "country boy" so my husband decided to stay a few nights with him to "show" him how to start a fire.... use a generator...and how to control our battery operated converter so that he could have lighting and watch some tv....(only gets 3 AETN channels). His brother is writing a book and what better way to do that than to be in the woods by yourself!!! So off to work i go..... I use to think i would love to homeschool the kids ( 3rd and 6th grade now) but im not sure im up to that.... Any of you have any ideas on homeschooling i would much appreciate!! Just don't think i know where to start on that topic... Also anyone out there that would like to try a sample of my soap send me a message and in the subject line type: Goat milk Soap... Here is the thing with making the soap... i have to wait til our does deliver (of course...) and then after a week or so ill start some milking once the babies have got all the colostrum for themselves...then ill throw a batch of lye soap together ( one batch is about 15 bars, & uses 16 ounces of milk). Once all that is done (takes me about 2 hours to make) i then let the batch "rest" overnight and will then cut the bars the next day.. however soap is not ready yet as it will take about 6 weeks to Saponify ( to convert (a fat) into soap by treating with an alkali ( which is the LYE) this process must take place in order to "RID" the soap of the lye. Best Soap Ever... in my opinion of course... Have a great day... God Bless....Trista
We have 8 pregnant does due in about 2 weeks so im looking at at least 15 new additions. Our new buck that we used this year is black and white with moonspots and blue eyes. So we are hoping for some colorful babies.

About meMy name is Trista, i love living the simple life, being a work at home mom, wife, christian, spending time outdoors and learning anything crafty. We Started our small farm in 2014, nothing fancy just wanted to give my mom a hobby and boy has it turned into a fun filled adventure. So i bought my mom her first Nigerian in 2014 named "Apple" and she just fell in love. Then of course you can not just have one goat once you get started so she went and bought our first Buck "Billy"...and it has just escalated from there. I register all our goats with the ADGA and A few of our Bucks are triple registered. Archives
